WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University’s Polytechnic Institute proudly recognized David Byers of Franklin, Indiana, with a Distinguished Technology Alumni Award at the annual Purdue Technology Appreciation and Alumni Awards ceremony. Byers, a 1985 graduate of Purdue’s Professional Pilot Technology program, was honored for his remarkable career in aviation and his enduring contributions to the field.
Thomas Lucas, an assistant professor of practice at Purdue Polytechnic in New Albany, has received the IMPACT Festival of Teaching and Learning Award from Purdue's Center for Instructional Excellence.
Lucas presented his work at the Festival of Teaching and Learning in 2025, where he showcased the innovative ideas and practices that he has developed in data analysis and AI integration. He was also awarded $1,000 to recognize and promote innovation in instruction.
Kaatje Chesson, a Purdue Polytechnic interior architecture student in Indianapolis, recently won first place in the National Kitchen and Bath Association Indiana State competition with a proposed kitchen redesign of the historic Propylaeum Mansion carriage house in Indianapolis..
On April 10, Purdue Polytechnic awarded nine of the college’s outstanding alumni for their contributions in their respective industries and communities.
